Uncommitted, stands at 6-foot-2, 210-pounds and fills every bit of that stature. Very calm yet intense presence in the dugout and even in his preparation. He presents a demeanor of focus and determination.
Did not run the 60 due to some lower body discomfort.
OF Def: He sets up with low, creeping steps, and his anticipation for a ball to be hit his way is fun to watch. The first step is explosive but in control so he can see every hop and carry of the baseball. The athleticism shines as he sets to transfer from glove to hand with a big turn of the shoulders. The long arm whip gets the ball out in a hurry with accuracy being right in line for an easy catch and tag for any position player.
Hitting: Stands tall, shows his balance and poise at the plate. Not many moving parts, but a timing of feet, to hips to hands makes for a baseball to jump off his bat. What stuck out most was his balance and hand position. His balance aids him to identify pitches and attack to all fields. His hands are also in a good position to swing the bat and make solid, consistent contact.
Summary: Building on that calm, quiet confidence, he showed a lot of tools to be a good player now and definitely down the road. From the fundamentals of fielding, hitting, and what appears to be a strong baseball IQ, he’s one to watch.

at Valley Christian HS (San Jose) - Uncommitted; started and finished 4-hit shutout, 7 IP, 4 H (all singles), 0 BB, 2 K; Physical broad frame, good body control, long easy arm swing, over the top slot, maintained mechanics all game both in stretch and wind-up, never flustered and very stoic, almost-Terminator-like, uses all four pitches well with ability to mix and use each in back to back scenarios. Elicited a lot of soft contact by attacking the zone and keeping batters off balance. FB up to 87 a few times early, settled in around 85 mph, cutter flased up to 83-84 with enough late movement to avoid barrel, slow CB was effective as big change of pace, can lean on the splitter for swing and misses and for outs. Can occasionally work a little slow but that also could have been by design to upset rhythm and timing. Fun to watch him compete, with just a bit more raw stuff he becomes a very intriguing pitching prospect due to his ability to navigate a line-up multiple times.
