PBR Norcal Uncommitted Senior Games - Current strength in the 6-0, 180 frame with rolled shoulders and tight waist; feet are quick matching with loose hips (7.02 60-yd) showing range to stick at 3rd, with 75 mph arm being fringy for the position at the college level. Made nice plays at 3rd during games catching a screaming liner before going behind the bag moving away from first and putting a good throw across the diamond. Solid day at the plate picking up a hit to RCF for an RBI and drawing a walk before stealing second on an 0-2 breaking ball. During BP he showed timing and rhythm using his lower half as he drove the oppo gap with direct hands. Exit velocity of 88 mph posted as his best in 5 swings off the tee.
v Santa Cruz - Uncommitted. Medium wide frame with a strong, athletic build throughout; frame projects continued addition of strength. Slightly open stance with slight bend in knees and high back elbow/high hands combination. Big leg kick as he transfers weight over back foot working hands back and up with wide, balanced stance at foot landing; weight transfer can carry over front leg at times and lead to bat path becoming a bit more steep. Swing stays tight to the body with compact upwards arc using full body for extension and turns. Long, fluid strides down the line (4.62 H-1st) playing better underway and showing lateral agility around 3B. Glove flashed some lateral ability, playing aggressively to his glove side cutting off a couple grounders for nice plays and being able to come get a topped ball. Compact arm with high release showing playable arm strength at 3B. Frame and tools that are continuing to improve with more repetitions. Another 2020 name to watch this summer.
7/26/18 NCTB underclass tourney - Displayed discipline at the plate and competitive nature in the box. Fought off tough pitches to stay alive and get one to handle. Good balance in the box and can feel his competitiveness. On defense kept ball in front of him well and stayed calm when a play could break down. Steady fielder with a strong arm and looked to be quite solid in all phases of the game.
