Sacramento State commit; With a strong 6-foot-4, 215-pound build, has an overall presence from his pre-workout, to bullpen, to the mound. He’s structured and gets properly ready to pitch.
Delivery: With hands starting high from the stretch position, he uses his 6’4 frame for a big leg kick and long stride down the mound. His simple but effective delivery gets his arm out with ease and through the zone. Firm fastball and spin rate of over 2100, he challenged hitters early in counts. He controls the tempo and sequences of all his pitches, throwing every pitch of his three-pitch mix for strikes.
FB: Topping out at 90 mph, he has good, late life to an already firm fastball. Used the fastball in the upper part of the zone to get swings and misses.
CB: With a very sharp break and use of both sides of the plate, he was able to throw the curveball for a strike and get swings and misses. A substantial speed differential allows the curveball to freeze hitters on both sides of the plate.
SL: Another firm off-speed offering was his power slider that moved well across the plate, topping out at 76 mph. This is potentially a strikeout pitch for him.
Summary: Overall, the Sacramento State commit was able to command all his pitches while throwing them with intent. He uses his big body to get tilt and depth on every pitch, and his quality three-pitch mix kept hitters off balance and forced weak contact.

Body: 6-4, 215-pounds. Large shoulders and lean present strength throughout; projection available as he continues to mature. Delivery: Stretch only; hands at top of chest. Sinks early on the back leg right after higher front leg lift. When he got into the front leg and firmed up was able to get over it and produce better. Arm Action: RH. Full arm, long swing fluid and easy through 3/4 slot. Good extension and release height that match large frame. FB: T88, 84-87 mph. Around zone in first with better control in second. Pitch was firm mainly away/up from hitters. Better angle when firmer on front side. CB: 64-70 mph. Smaller, later break at plate flashing some depth. CUT: 73-75 mph. Short and small break; keeps it off barrels and good actions at the plate.
