3/26/18 Boras Classic - UCLA signee, Mullen is an athletically proportioned 6-foot-1 180-pounds of lean muscle and physical development. A two-way player, he started on the mound and hit in the lead-off spot. He relies on an athletic delivery and quick arm on the mound, with a fastball that was 88-91 mph (was told of a tick up to 92 by a scout) and a 79-80 mph slider with true 11/4 type break. The spin on the slider is good and as he gets more consistent with his release point it's got a shot to be an above average slider in the Pac-12. He pitches from a high-3/4 slot and uses his body well. With his arm speed and likely more strength to come, the chances of getting to 92-94 mph are good. Offensively he has plenty of bat speed and runs above average, with an aggressive approach.
