1/27/19

PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Strong lean/toned streamlined body he's put some time into, 6-foot-2 180-pounds and physically impressive, chance to make a name for himself this spring among 2020 left-handers in the region, energetic and lively delivery, strong lift/gather, good timing of separation, long backside while keeping ball fairly hidden, on-line stride with slight open toe at landing, high-3/4 slot and loose quick arm, works aggressively to and through the front side and ends up at good extension and finish, aggressive with arm and appears quite confident with what he's all about, he should be because the stuff is good, fastball (T85) with life through the zone and capable of sneaking by hitters, wide slider (74-76 mph) with slippery action at times and bite at other times, capable of going below bats with the slider, change-up (64-68 mph) has makings of being a plus pitch, wide variance off his fastball and at least one change-up was pull-the-string quality. Mound presence was felt by all watching him, seemed the type of pitcher defenders would like playing behind.
