BAWS 2019 - Medium, long frame with tight waist and lean build throughout (7.64 60yd). Wider, balanced stance with high hands resting barrel on back shoulder; hands pull knob back with slight foot lift putting weight into back leg. Showed good posture staying behind the baseball and hitting over a stiff front leg with some hip pop on turns; hands can get wide sapping some of the strength in his swing. Got lift to the pull side with his bat having an upwards path (82 EV); showed the ability to square the baseball up during the games with lots of deep outs along with good AB’s working counts and swinging at strikes. Defense was solid at both 1st and 3rd with a corner profile. During workouts, showed wide hips that can get low making the plays in his fair range; uses his long legs well to cover some ground. Arm has some push in throwing action limiting throwing strength (72 MPH); have seen it be better when playing in the OF during spring. The effort was very high all weekend sacrificing himself as he went into foul territory for plays going to get the ball; reaction to the baseball is strong and loved his willingness to go get the ball. Won Hustle award during the event because of his work ethic and willingness to make plays for his teammates.
