Uncommitted as of this report; Has as much ceiling on the mound as Carter does as a position player. He's a long and lanky (but filling out nicely) 6-foot-2 180-pound left-hander and the arm works with ease, buttery smooth ease, classic high-3/4 slot and easy lift in the delivery. Does need better lower body stability to maintain his direction better toward extension (tends to spin off). He was 84-87 mph, sitting comfortably 86 mph, with arm side life and occasionally late riding action. The velocity sure seemed better than that as hitters could NOT lay off the high fastball and were routinely behind that pitch. Clearly there is late life and the hitters swings displayed that. He wasn't exactly painting corners but only walked one and again, he has that rare ability to get hitters to swing and miss A LOT. Complementing his fastball is a hard, big, steep curveball that was 75-78 mph and more often than not flashing as a no-doubt future plus breaking ball (not college plus... 20/80 plus). He's got feel of it and it's good vs right or left-handed hitters as a strikeout pitch and as an early count offering. Coming from his high slot makes that a real challenging pitch for hitters. Comp would be Tyler Skaggs or Mike Montgomery. For all of the good, he's still got a ways to go in terms of holding runners, working with much better tempo, and fielding his position.

Fall tournament - Long/lanky body that is increasingly gaining good size from last look at him, long loose easy arm, highly projectable, fastball up to 87 mph with steady 84-85, feel of smaller CB 74-76 that could morph into a slider, used well on the arm side and can backdoor it, made nice adjustment within an inning when timing of separation was off while in the stretch and taking velocity down to 82 then cleaned up the timing and was back to 84 mph. Looking like one of the more intriguing 2020 LHPs in the region and one to definitely see in spring 2019.

BAWS 2018 - Lean long and highly projectable 6-foot-1 180-pound body. Looks to be one of the more intriguing left-handers in 2020 class in Northern California. On mound, hands stayed tight to chest with full hip/back turn and high front knee at balance; mid-3/4 release from compact arm using longer action out of glove. Fastball 78-83 mph with cut to glove side; lots of pre-pitch movement limits control of pitch but can create some deception as he learns to master his tempo and delivery. Slider 69-73 mph with sweeping action showing small tilt through the zone. As a hitter, open stance with flat bat on back shoulder while keeping elbows out and utilizes high leg lift for timing; quick stroke with ability to spray ball to middle of field. Excellent stride and ability to go get the ball in outfield; shows long arm with above average carry. Above average runner showing excellent first steps out of box and length in stride; 4.09-4.34 H-1st and puts pressure on defense.
