2/22/19 - Game v Monte Vista - Remains an intriguing uncommitted catcher due to raw arm strength, frame, strength and potential with the bat. Still mechanically raw in some respects. Flashes good block ability but can also control better, somewhat inconsistent with glove position to receive pitches in certain zone, throwing mechanics can tighten up to get ball out a bit quicker (2.19 Warm-up toss) and get fingers above ball a bit better to eliminate the tailing action. Does show the ability to do all those things well though, video from this game will illustrate, good field demeanor. Offensively is continuing to evolve and is close, hands work well and he's getting to and through the ball while working inside, tends to lose the barrel a bit as he starts forward, ending up below the ball a bit at contact which is the difference in driving the ball the other way and to CF vs flaring high fly balls. Two year development at a JC could be very good for him to polish up the tools and develop even further.

6/1/18-6/3/18 - BAWS 2018 - Strong frame, sturdy and well-put together, retains agility with good strength and size. One of better catching prospects in 2019 class in Northern California. Wide stance with high back elbow and small load; quick hands with ability to drive ball with authority into gaps. Stayed opposite field early in batting practice showing barrel speed through contact; 87 mph exit velo on line drive back through middle. Very strong arm with quick transitions while keeping ball on straight line (1.97-2.0 Pop). Fluid running stride, but catcher build limits overall speed; 4.78-4.97 H-1st.
10/28-29/2017 - Has really started to smooth out the hitting mechanics, balance is much better, timing is vastly improved, strength is showing up more regularly, if the hitting keeps coming on with his already strong defensive tools and his grinder approach to the game, he will be well-received by college coaches looking for a strong defensive catcher with a chance to contribute with the bat.
6/24-26/2017 - BAWS 2018 - Strong yet lanky 6-foot-0 190-pound catcher, arm strength and pop times stand out and the times can get even lower as his exchange and arm stroke get more polished, he's got that good big strong frame for a catcher too, worked hard to block, tools suggest he can be a contributing catcher at college level, offensively he has strength and some pop, lower half direction and drift tend to speed up pitches on him at times.
