Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
BAWS 2019 - Medium frame with proportional build; tight waist with stronger upper half (7.69 60yd). Narrow slightly opened stance with relaxed hands and elbows keeping barrel on the back shoulder; has a bounce off the shoulder as he closes front side having slight lift of hands. Quick bat with upward path from compact stroke; stays behind the baseball well with a two hand full finish (82 EV). Drove line drives through the middle of the field flashing some carry through the middle also. Stayed through the middle during games with consistent solid contact getting out of the bo with some bounce and attacking FB’s. Attacks the baseball in OF with controlled feet able to scoop and move in one solid motion; athletic and easy actions with high compact release (80 MPH). Profile would fit best if he can stay in CF.
4/17/19
vs Redwood-Visalia at Fresno Easter Classic - Thick stout build with strength in lower half, left-handed hitter with bat speed and strength, balance and ability to consistently stay behind the ball are areas to improve, does have power potential and ball leaves bat well, can tend to get under ball too much and hasn't shown ability to make adjustments to offspeed on a consistent basis. First report here but have also seen in game earlier this spring vs St. Mary's-Stockton. In both games has hit one to the RF wall/fence and also showed the flaws to offspeed. Raw, but someone to keep track of.
