PBR N CA Uncommitted Senior Games - Strong body type on 5-foot-11 190-pound frame, chance to develop significant strength in college weight development program, good arm, ball comes out of hand well, modified delivery with step back from set position, agile knee lift with swing back of foot and coiling of hips, uncoils with pretty consistent timing and makes an aggressive hip turn with back leg coming through well. Has arm speed that projects for more velocity as lower body develops ability to create more leverage. High-3/4 slot, short-ish on backside and hides ball a bit, aggressive use of fastball which he likes, slider is traditional shape and can be developed further. Stuff has a chance to evolve mid-upper-80s with development program beyond the HS level.
5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Medium build showing current strength with width in the shoulders (7.45 60yd). Slightly opened stance with high back elbow with hands having some rhythm and bounce pre-pitch; big front knee kick showing balance in back leg before gaining ground as hands have some small movement back. Loose wrists create some late bat speed with flat bat; worked oppo to the middle of the field showing carry to the opposite gap (90 EV). Picked up a couple of singles and made some loud outs squaring up the baseball during games. Loose hips with some athletic actions in his feet; tends to play a bit higher which suits the 3rd base profile. Flashed ability to make plays on the run and strong arm from mid-slot (83 MPH). On the mound, full overhead delivery with tight knee tuck having slight shoulder turn as well; some athleticism in his lower half with strong brace leg. Compact 3/4 arm with some effort in the delivery. FB 81-83 having some cut from hand placement on baseball. CB 66-69 11/4 showing early bend with small depth; flashes of some tighter spin through the zone. SLD 75-77 cut late with tilt when needing the swing and miss. Control can continue to be a focus; aggressive down the mound creating some timing issues. Physical player who has tools that can keep progressing.
