A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body: 6-0, 210-pounds. Big body catcher with present strength, moves well behind the dish, athleticism starting to show. Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance, even in the box, leg kick to footstrike, timing key to overall swing, consistent showing. Blast Motion scores of 56-53-50. Nice even score across the board works well for his even swing. No glaring weaknesses help the bat now and show ability to develop quickly but also highlight need for across the board improvement. Power: 94.00 max exit velocity Arm: RH. C - 78.00 mph. College-level arm, arm speed key to velocity, potential and room for development showing. Defense: 2.04-2.11 pop times. Sits low for his size, lines up well with target, good transfers, projectable behind the plate. Run: 7.86 runner in the 60.
7/07/21
Body: 6-0, 220-pounds. Sturdier catcher's build. Filled out throughout but can add some athleticism. Hit: RHH. Is upright with his upper body with loose rhythmic hands in stance. Slow peel of the front leg for a small leg lift trigger that also gets him into a minimal negative move. Bat works up and more vertical when getting into footstrike. More direct to the ball as the bat enters the zone. Hands stayed tight to his body. Post impact results were more pullside oriented with top spin. Power: 94.00 max exit velocity Blast metric of Bat speed average of 70.28 and max at 72.8 show a decent power floor with room to grow with an increase in rotational acceleration. BP session showed some pullside double power. Arm: RH. C - 77.00 mph. 2/5 accurate throwdowns. Decent arm strength but opened up the front side a bit early which had throws sail on him a bit. Defense: 2.09-2.19 pop times. Good footwork on throwdowns. Showed decent receiving skills with his softer hands during bullpens. Got low to the ball and showed the ability to frame lower pitches. Run: 7.99 runner in the 60.
