Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
vs Marin Catholic - Uncommitted; Strong build on 6-foot-0 185-pound body, played RF while hitting 3rd in line-up, outstanding showing at the plate, strong middle of field approach, barrel in the zone a long time, able to spoil quality offspeed pitches while showing outstanding ability to barrel fastballs in the middle of field. Drove in first run of game was deep F8, then later lined out to CF and lined a single into shallow CF. Hitterish presence and ability to drive in runs. Ran fair down the line (4.54) though better speed than that underway.

Positional Profile: OF Body: 6-0, 181-pounds. Strong and athletic with lean musculature, streamlined build. Hit: RHH. Wide feet, starts with hands deep behind backside, weight shifts back early while getting strong over his back leg, small quiet stride, creates leverage against front side. Explosive hands, loose lively swing, multiple barrel waggles prior to triggering the swing, plenty of talent to be impactful middle of line-up type hitter; 17.8 max rotational acceleration, 67% on plane efficiency, 76.5% LDs/fly balls. Power: 96 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 23.6 max hand speed, 80.8 max bat speed (70 avg). Arm: RH. OF - 82 mph. High-3/4 release, accurate w/lower trajectory throws, flashed carry and ability to deliver easy to handle one hop throws. Defense: Fairly cautious approach to ball with modest ground gained, powerful into crow hop, creates in-line angles, fair release time. Run: 7.15 runner in the 60.

Positional Profile: OF - Showing at this event earned him invite to ProCase Preview (OF). Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Strong and athletic with lean musculature, streamlined build. Hit: RHH. Wide feet, smooth swinging of leg back to load over backside, creates tension and separation between hands feet, explosive stroke with leverage coming from lower body, quiet head. Some similarities to Josh Donaldson type mechanics, sees ball well, attacks on plane with the pitch, loud impactful contact, projects as a power threat; 71% on plane, 16.6 max rotational acceleration (13.61 avg), 72.8% LD/FB. Power: 95 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. Max hand speed 22.5 (20.54 avg), max bat speed 78.6 (72.53 avg). Arm: RH. OF - 82 mph. Longer arm action on backside, aggressive arm swing, gets rid of it quickly, some tailing action to the bag given the slot he throws from. Defense: Smooth to ball, reads ball a bit long before approaching, sets up throwing mechanics to get to his peak velocity, projects to corner OF spot. Run: 7.13 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: RHP Delivery: Methodical over the rubber, leans shoulders back a bit as knee lifts, smooth and controlled down slope then explosive after foot strike, maintains body control through his in-line stride. Arm Action: RH. Long clean circle on backside, nears full extension, loose and easy getting to high-3/4 slot, accelerates the arm through release. FB: T84, 82-84 mph. Flashed spin and movement patterns that project the FB favorably, feel for the zone was inconsistent. CH: 70-74 mph. Late movement to arm side, release a little early resulting in being up in the zone, looks close to developing this pitch.

Scrimmage vs Campolindo HS - Lean bodied 5-foot-10, 150-pounds, lower body shows he's begun to put some time into his lower half while retaining flexibility in upper body. Fairly limited look particularly regarding defense and running but the hit tools showed up well. Simple approach, comfortable set-up with calm confident presence. Hands fly easy, gets back elbow/back hip in sync while using minimal stride and good hip rotation. Aggressive early in count, gets barrel on time with loose wrists and good finish. Displayed quite advanced 2-k approach for freshman, lets ball travel and can foul off pitches to stay alive, went to big part of the field in those scenarios. Showed feel to hit and good mechanics, as physicality comes there is a lot of hitting in his future.
