Body: 5-9, 175-pounds. A medium build that is filling out with present strength. Hit: RHH. Is slightly closed with hands close to ear at stance. Uses a simple and quick forward stride where hands pop back and barrel works up. Simple compact stroke that works on an uphill path. Turns tight as hands stay close to his body as back elbow works under. All hits in BP were to the pullside. Power: 95 mph exit velocity. Pull-side power is there. Plus bat speed of 73mph which is above average for his level give him a good power floor. Arm: RH. INF - 76 mph. Quick and short fluid arm action. Quick to release and made all accurate throws. Defense: One of the better fielders at the event. Soft hands and light feet. Clean exchanges and is good on the move. Run: 7.29 runner in the 60.

Preseason All-State. This is our second look at Takeuchi in this type of setting and he has made all around gains since our last viewing. One of the standouts on the day Takeuchi showed well all around and took a focussed BP round spraying balls with authority all over the field. Was crisp in his ground ball session showing athleticism and making all the plays left to right. Displayed an above average arm tool on throws to first base with carry and accuracy.

Uncommitted. Five-foot-7, 150-pounds. Medium/Large frame with pronounced strength in the lower half. Squared shoulders with room to fill out/add strength in the upper half. Incorporates lower half into swing to generate his present power. Gap-to-gap approach with a level barrel path that he’s able to consistently keep in the zone. Has some lift in the swing at times with some power - registered an 80 mph exit velocity off a tee. Defensively Takeuchi showed strong glovework with soft hands, clean exchanges and strong, accurate arm to the bag. The backhand was true while his footwork was also very good with no wasted actions.
