ACG Tryout - Confident defender that took all the right angles during his defensive workout. Wasted no extra movement on his extremely accurate 88 mph throws that had a slight armside tail. Physical lower body and simple, quiet swing translated to a composed second round of batting practice where he sprayed line drives to all fields. Ran a 7.1 second 60 yard dash.
6/12/22
Bay Area World Series 2022 - Uncommitted; Physical body type on rangy frame, lower body appears to be strong, outstanding catching performance both in workout and in game action, ran 7.17 60-yd, 87 mph max OF throw with 77 max C pop throw, both velocities rated on the high end of all players at the event, pop times 2.04-2.10-2.07-2.07 all on bag accurate, OF throws also accurate, blocking ability showed up in game as he had to block well more than 10 pitches while catching one of the pitchers and blocked all of them successfully, offensively took a composed BP round focused on middle of field contact, 90.3 max EV, 50% sweet spot %, there is strength in the swing though can develop better timing to let the barrel live a bit more through contact, good process at plate, had to leave event early due to dislocated right ring finger after a collision with 1B while running out a ground ball to SS.
9/18/21
Positional Profile: C/OF - One of top overall talents at the event. Body: 6-0, 175-pounds. Strength throughout, muscular lower half, well-proportioned athletic build. Hit: RHH. Wide even feet, balanced with slight weight to backside, small quiet stride, small compact load, creates barrel tilt in load. Powerful stroke, maintains balance and body control while driving ball, works middle of field with gap to gap power, strong top hand in two hand finish, physical swing with bat control and legitimate raw power. Power: 92.4 max exit velocity (85.78 avg), 70.7 max bat speed, 22.4 max hand speed. Arm: RH. C - 76 mph. OF - 84 mph. Physical arm, 3 of 4 pop throws right on the bag mid-shin high both in workout and game action, some tailing action on throws, OF arm is strong and accurate with carry and a quick athletic release. Defense: 2.10-2.16 pop times. Sat and received on pop-throws giving true reads on the times, clean exchange that can quicken up with technique adjustments, athletic block and recover skills, strong receiver, OF routes and reads are clean, confident actions with corner OF range. Run: 7.25 runner in the 60.
6/06/21
Bay Area World Series Underclass (6/4/21-6/6/21)
Offensive notes: Balanced stance, wider on the feet with high hands. Quiet load allows him to stay tight and compact with barrel creating backspin as he worked hard liners over the 2B-to-SS region. Consistently on the barrel in BP and transferred that over to the games where he drove some balls through the middle of the field. Long frame, athletically built with space for more girth as he matures. Projectable swing/frame. 60-yard - 7.39 / EV mph - 90
Defensive notes: Pulled the glove to the throwing arm and uses longer actions to keep throws consistently on armside of the bag for plays to be made. Uses long frame to block and keep balls in front of him; athletic recovery and able to have multiple angles on throws. C mph - 74 / Pops - 2.14-2.19
11/15/20
Positional Profile: C/OF/3B Body: 5-11, 168-pounds. Athletic build, well-proportioned, strength in core/thighs, broad upper body. Hit: RHH. Wider feet, balanced with slight knee bend, relaxed arms, on plate, small quiet hand load, small stride. Flat plane, mature BP session working middle of field w/line drive approach, accelerates hands easily, consistent barrel contact, tools for line to line power, lower half can engage earlier; 11.3 max rotational acceleration, 70% on plane efficiency. Power: 87 mph exit velocity in live BP via TrackMan. 20.6 max hand speed, 66.9 max bat speed. Arm: RH. C - 73 mph. OF - 80 mph. At C showed short quick arm action, efficient exchange, throws carried with pace and repeatedly on the bag; in OF aggressive release, came out of hand well, short arm action, flashed on/near bag accuracy with some tailing action. Defense: 2.17-2.19 pop times. Strong soft hands at C, can stick it where caught on both sides of body, quiet actions, able to get out of crouch quickly, arm side set up a bit open and has block willingness/ability with some needed technique adjustments with outside shoulder; in OF charged aggressively, got to throws quickly w/crow hop, can create better angles on way to ball. Run: 7.52 runner in the 60.
