Defense: Showed feel around the bag, picked well, limited laterally. Arm: RH. INF - 88 mph. Arm has life to it, pitcher swing path, next level throws across the diamond. Hit: RHH. Wide base, sturdy lower half, low hands, high finish. Blast Motion scores of 53/52/35. Solid plane and connections score show his ability to get in a good position to hit and stay on the swing plane but low rotation score shows it takes him longer to get there. Power: 84 mph exit velocity. Run: 7.81 runner in the 60.
9/14/19
Uncommitted. Six-foot. 190-pounds. Large, physical frame with some proportional strength throughout, but especially in the lower half. At the plate he starts slightly open before using a short leg lift trigger. Has present hand speed with which he whips the barrel through the zone on-plane. Maintains balance throughout swing into finish. Gets full extension and does not get cheated at the plate. Showed a knack for battling off tough pitches in-game before getting barrel on the ball. Defensively Bruce showed athletic actions at first base where he was light on his feet while attacking balls under control and funneling them out front. Arm works as it was accurate across the diamond and on the double-play turn.
8/17/19
PBR CA STATE GAMES - Full, large frame that has current strength and can continue to shape with more maturity. Corner guy who flashed some strength in the bat and skills to stick at corners. High hands, high back elbow and wide stance at the plate using slight foot lift; stays balanced through easy swing with bat having ability to stay compact and long through the zone. Showed quickness with hit to CF in the 2nd game flashing that strength with two strongly hit balls in the first game. Moved well around the bag with fair presence and understanding of spacing. Physicality for age stands out and projects well.
