Athletic, lean muscled build playing with bursty speed in game (7.45 60yd). High hands and high back elbow in crouched stance; slow foot lift times with hand turn looking to get hands into launch position. Barrel has some late flick through the zone flashing speed pullside; worked gaps from both sides of the plate with hard contact carrying over to the games where he squared up two balls with a hit to RF. Quick feet moving on the run playing loose and agile with glove working through the baseball; arm is loose playing in time with the action and hitting targets (77 MPH). Continues to show in-game skills.
5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Lean and wiry medium frame with high waist and some projection still available in the frame; quick, athletic actions around the field (7.19 60yd). Showed off the athletic ability on defense playing fluidly as he moved through the baseball having strong timing. Defense carried over to games where he showed extended range and the actions to stick in the middle of the diamond with quick turns and a soft glove. Arm fits better at 2B, but could spell at SS if needed (75 MPH) with compact actions. Switch hitter starts open and tall with high hands and high back elbow; strides closed with foot hand shifting weight into back hip; a bit more squatted in swing from left side with hands having a bit more lift this way. Compact bat shows quickness in direct path for lots of line drives through the field (Both sides of the plate) (81 EV). Showed ability to attack good pitches in games.
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Long, lean, small frame with squared shoulders; inline runner showing strong posture and average stride length (7.34 60-yd). LHH balanced stance with high back elbow, hands above back shoulder with flat bat; big knee tuck keeps him behind the baseball with hands having slight drop. RHH keeps hands a bit higher with similar small drop though his knee tuck is less pronounced. Swing is quick through the zone with short tight turns and pullside focus (74 exit velo). Controlled footwork with feet staying underneath him; hips play a bit high but works through the ball smoothly. Quick arm with mid-¾ slot shows whippy actions from all angles (74 mph).
