8/17/19

PBR CA STATE GAMES - Large frame with current strength in frame showing length in the limbs. Started 2nd game on Saturday going two innings with two K’s and two BBs. Tough to pick up baseball with full overhead delivery getting the ball out of the glove from around his head; high front leg and high glove side add to the deception for hitter. Full arm swing to H-3/4 delivery with controlled effort working down the hill. FB 82-84 sticking to the glove side with angle. CB 66-69 slurve with 11/4 action late at the plate; feel for the pitch using for swing and miss and into the zone. CHG 77 arm side sink off FB look. Pitched with tempo attacking hitters early in the count.

7/26/19

Uncommitted. 6-foot-170 pounds, proportional frame with long arms and legs. Shows non-traditional old school windup mechanics and is able to repeat his delivery. Has high three-quarter arm slot, quick arm speed, with short and loose arm action. Featured a 12/6 curveball that has late sharp movement from the same arm slot as the fastball and possesses full command of the pitch. Fastball sat 83-85, touching 86. Works quickly and efficiently

2/27/19

Uncommitted. 6-foot-1, 175-pounds. Casebier worked three innings, giving up 3-hits, 3-runs, striking out two, with 4-walks a Casebier throws out of a high ¾ slot with max effort delivery. Fastball sat 80-82, spun a nice curveball with some late bite at 65-66.

1/05/19

SoCal Preseason All-State - 6-foot-170 pounds, lanky, rhythm pitcher with good mound presence. Quirky mechanics and old school delivery combine for repeatable mechanics and feel. Releases from a high three-quarter arm slot, quick arm speed, short and loose arm action, good balance, level shoulders and direction in line with the catcher. Featured a 12/6 curveball that has late sharp movement from the same arm slot as the fastball and possesses full command of the pitch. Change-up had run and sink but was inconsistent pitch to pitch from lack of feel and inability to get on top of the ball. Starter potential with mature feel for a curveball and should have success from unique mechanics, delivery and release point.

8/01/18

SoCal Underclass Games - Six-foot, 170-pound, large frame with present proportional strength throughout body. High waist with long limbs. Casebier impressed in his outing leaving hitters baffled and scouts impressed. With a quick-to-fast arm, clean and repeatable mechanics and athleticism, Casebier projects for future velocity gains. Shows excellent rhythm and hip coil; uses a high ¾ arm slot through to a balanced, online, and athletic finish. Fastball shows late running action. Sharp, 11/5 curveball from the same arm speed projects to be an above average pitch. Casebier also shows very good feel for a fading changeup that he threw for strikes. Casebier faced six hitters on the day: K, F7, K, F4, F7, 6-3. Very projectable righty who is young for his class not turning 17 until next spring.
