Physical: 6-5, 230 pounds; Long, sturdy build. Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet just outside his shoulders; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a direct swing path with a two handed finish. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 92.00 MPH via Trackman. Whitman continues to make solid contact with exit velocity to match. The right-handed power bat is one of the most consistent PBR event bats. Defensively: Starts with a balanced setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while showing active feet. Hands work through the ball while funneling to the hip before transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 67.00 MPH. Size and strength make him an ideal first base target. Former catching technique helps him play low to the ground, block and pick. Pitching: Uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Mid chest leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a long stride landing inline with the plate. Moderate arm swing while arm wraps behind the body; standard 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. Orange County Preseason All-State - long and lanky raw catchers build at 6-foot-4 204 pounds with lots of room to fill out. Sets up behind the plate with a wide base and takes up a lot of space. Big target for pitchers to sight in on but needs to be more calm receiving. Foot speed lacked causing some accuracy issues and registered a pop-time range of 2.14-2.22. Offensively showed a short swing for his size with some bat speed. Hunches over some and plays smaller than his size but shows potential to create power down the line. Young catcher with a big frame that will be a name to watch down the line if he can harness his raw talents.
