1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Large frame with proportional length showing wide chest and strength throughout; very athletic and agile showing loose, easy hips and running ability (7.07 60-yd). Smooth, controlled actions behind the late letting athleticism work and moving in sequence; arm is quick and compact with bow and arrow qualities flashing above average. Regularly put the ball on the bag with extra life (1.94-2.02 pop, 78 MPH). Tall, balanced stance showing good posture with high hands and high back elbow; creates easy rhythm with quick load back as he pulls the bat and his hands down and back into shoulder. Strong ability to stay behind the baseball and can manipulate front leg to match timing of pitch; bat work on slight upwards path with quickness into and through the zone. Flashed above average power to the gaps with easy, controlled swing keeping head still and creating strong extension out in front (91 exit velo).
8/10-8/12/18: Medium frame showing larger in upper half with lean strength in lower half; projectable build could still add some strength as well as possibly adding some more height. Utilizes an open stance with even hands and a relaxed bat on the back shoulder; lifts bat to hitting position on load and shows slight crouch on load as well. Compact swing with extension through the ball from quick hands; regularly see balls barreled back through middle of the field. In batting practice showed the ability to spay balls gap-to-gap with more carry. Average runner that looks better underway; 4.4, 4.6 home-to-first times while showing quickness in reactions. Slightly below average arm from behind plate, but very quick transitions with compact exchange and ability to put ball on the bag (1.94 in-game pop). Average blocking/receiving skills showing a stiffer glove and times where he is late to block; areas that can continue to develop over final two seasons.
