PBR CA STATE GAMES - Medium, long frame showing high waist and wide, firm build; current strength in the frame. High hands set up staying tall with hands staying high through bigger knee kick. Barrel has some length, but when on time flashes good speed through the zone. Moves well using his speed to get down the line including on infield single; speed transfers to the outfield with the range to stick in the middle of the field.
8/1/18 - SoCal Underclass Games - Six-foot, 190-pounds, large, strong, athletic frame with pronounced strength throughout. Birmingham is a physically strong outfielder who attacks balls well and shows a presently powerful, accurate arm. Throws show carry. Shows range to both sides while under control of his body. Shows accuracy with long hops. At the plate Birmingham shows a direct path to the ball with a downhill barrel angle creating backspin on line drives to the gaps. Strength is evident at the plate, particularly in the forearms and wrists. Gap-to-gap approach. Is short and quick to the ball with good rhythm.
6/12/18 - 6-foot, 185-pound, proportional strength with powerful lower half and developed upper half. Birmingham is an athletic outfielder with a high backside which projects continued growth. Defensively he has nimble feet which allow him to move well and freely. Gets to the ball under control. Hands can be hard at times which cause him to stab at the ball and cease momentum. His are is loose and powerful. There's carry in his throws and were accurate to the bag/plate. Offensively is where Birmingham really projects. He has present power that could develop into over-the-fence power. Swing is short-to-the-ball but long through it on a slightly uphill path that he maintains in the hitting zone. Showed a high barrell percentage during hitting evaluation periods. Above average bat-to-ball skills. Current gap-to-gap approach with pull-side pop. Not certain if he stays in the OF, but the bat skills will play just about anywhere.
