BAWS 2019 - Large, thick frame throughout; strong build. Hands start at chest staying through high front knee breaking as he sits down the hill; glove side gets high and long off the break. Arm is long and pronounced towards 1st base having wrist flip; strength allows him to get to H-3/4 release. FB 79-82 T83 mainly armside having pitch run up through the zone; limited control of the pitch. CB 71-73 long and loose in 12/5-to-12/6 shape; pitch rolls through break. Can continue to improve mechanics and body to improve pitches.
4/20/18
vs Sonoma Academy - Large frame and thick body type at 6-foot-1 205-pounds, thick throughout lower body, lower waist body type, long arm action with pronounced reach back toward 1st base on the backside and a flip of his hand that forces a pie-type arm action, strong and physical kid which allows him to overcome the arm stroke to get up to 83 mph, sat 79-81 for the most part, slow 11/5 type curveball at 67 mph and some possible two seam fastballs that served as change-ups or change of pace off the fastball. Struggled with ability to locate the fastball and find consistent timing toward a repeatable release point out in front of his body, lots of pitches sailed up and in and over right-handed batters' heads. Young and strong but will have to work to develop better mechanics.
