5/31/19
BAWS 2019 - Lean, tight medium frame with wiry strength throughout build; high waist and some quick actions (7.28 60yd). Even hands with high back elbow; pronounced load with curl around back hip. Compact bat with hands tight to the body having full body turns; quick trigger with some lift through contact. Stayed to the pull side flashing some carry into the gaps (80 EV). Flashed some hard contact to the pullside with long 2B in last game. Active feet in infield with ability to get around the baseball and work through in timing; hands out front with high hips feeding ball up to arm. Arm is loose with quickness able to make the throws from both sides of range (82 MPH). On the hill, hands stayed mid chest through quick step and turn showing small back turn as he coils around back hip; aggressive down the mound and out of back leg with pronounced head movement. Arm pulls out from elbow with slight stab down before getting to 3/4 release point; arm shows quickness. Firm front leg with stiff landing; turns off foot creating some control imbalance. FB 83-84 T 86 flashing angle to both sides of the plate; velo dropped to 80-81 when in stretch without the top velocity. CB 63-69 with 12-5 shape having early bend with late, short depth; pitch could project more as he learns to maintain arm speed like FB. CHG 73-75 straight with some bottom off FB; another off-speed pitch that projects better as he learns to keep arm speed. Athletic overall profile that has raw tools, needing more strength to reach ceiling.
10/29/18
10/27-10/29/18 - NCTB Fall Classic - Medium frame showing high waist and lean strength throughout with length in limbs; wiry build with quick, twitchy actions on mound and in field. Slightly open stance with high back elbow and even hands; shows a quick bat with direct bat path that can find barrels. Average runner with longer gait down line (4.6 H-1st) and loose fluid hips; run tool plays up because of instincts and aggressive actions. Took 3rd on ball that barely got away from catcher after reading pitch out of pitchers hand. Same athleticism carried over to defense with his ability to come get the ball and make plays on the move; showed strong footwork at SS with ability to open hips for side to side movements. Average arm that showed ability to make routine plays and throws from run; times where arm was lazy on throws not utilizing good mechanics. On mound showed very well in outing striking out 5 in 3 IP. Simple delivery with hands mid chest dropping on quicker front knee that shows small tuck; compact arm with a small downward action out of glove before quickly getting to 3/4. FB 79-82 with ability to manipulate pitch and location consistently; only threw FB in outing cutting it, sinking it, running it and attacking hitters with angle. Pitch jumped on hitters with excellent control and command to all quadrants of zone.
