RHP Evan Fitterer (Aliso Niguel HS, CA), a UCLA recruit, took the ball for BPA and proceeded to throw a complete game on just 89 pitches. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-hander worked 90-92 with his fastball early on, showing the ability to get some sink to the arm side while pounding the bottom of the zone. He showed the ability to get his slider in and out of the zone in the upper-seventies, and while it is more of an average pitch, it played up under the lights. He finished the outing with 12 strikeouts and two walks while allowing just one hit and one run.

7/15/18 - Fitterer was about as good as I've seen him over the last two years. His fastball had life and run at 90-92 and was coming out easy. His changeup was okay at times and really good at times at 81-82. But it was his slider that was lights out as it was tight and showed sweeping action at 75-76 missing barrels and resulting in swing-and-miss passes by hitters.

4/12/18 - UCLA commit. 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame. Long, lean, athletic build. Fitterer is an intriguing arm due to his ability to run his fastball up to 89 mph with way more in there. The fastball shows late life when entering the zone and sat 86-88 mph. He threw three fastballs at 88 mph that showed big cut action. His curveball was 71-75 mph and lived 73-74 mph. The pitch has an 11/5 break to it and shows late depth. His control of the pitch on this day wasn't as good as we've seen in the past. Out of the stretch, Fitterer uses a short leg lift and stays tall on the backside before the ball explodes out of his hand. Varies his looks well and controls the running game well too. From the windup there's a pronounced leg lift and significant shoulder turn to hide the ball from hitters - fastball gets on hitters in a hurry. Very competitive pitcher who does not give in to hitters. Fields position well.
