A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.

The maximum speed, in the direction of home plate, that the wrist is traveling. Measured in meters per second (m/s)
Arm Slot
Angle of the forearm relative to the ground between maximum external rotation (MER) and ball release (BR). Which can be a powerful player comparison metric, delivered in degrees.
Knee Extension Velo
The angular velocity of the front knee straightening after foot plant, which provides indicators of velocity potential. Measured in degrees per second.
Deception
The amount of time that the ball is visible to the hitter, after the instant of front foot strike. Measures in milliseconds.
Hip-Shoulder Separation
The difference in angle of between the hips and shoulders, occurring close to the foot plant. Measured in degrees.

Event: NorCal Underclass Game Body: 6-0, 140-pounds. Lanky proportions with lean body. Delivery: Hands tight to body as he gets to a fairly high sharp knee lift, slides post foot to 1B side of rubber, very slight cross-body stride almost indiscernible from in-line stride, lands slightly closed with stability in lower body, slight easy rotation to 1B side through release, calm delivery with body control and ability to repeat, head stays calm through release. Arm Action: Loose arm, shorter on backside, clean circle with no restrictions as he gets to an overhand release, decelerates with looseness and allows energy to flow out. FB: T76.5 mph, 74-76 mph velo range, 1973 max spin; minimal movement, consistent around zone to his spots, a bit more up in the zone than might be good for him presently, with strength gains and arm speed gains the FB will play better with increased velocity and ability to get to glove side location. CB: 63-64 mph, 2146 max spin; feel for the zone, smooth big shape with some rolling depth into the zone.

Event: California State Games Body: 6-0, 140-pounds. Lanky proportions with lean body type and some length to the frame. Delivery: Modest rocker step to 1B side, starts a bit toward 3B side of rubber, hands stay calm at mid torso before separation, sharp knee lift just above the waist, calm and methodical, slight cross body stride, maintains body control throughout delivery, somewhat upright at finish. Interesting to consider how strength will be a very positive development because he does have body control and rhythm. Arm Action: Clean easy circle, gets to high-3/4 release, fluid and smooth, strength gains will speed up the arm stroke. FB: T77.5, 75-76 mph velo range. 2082 max spin (1929 avg), 17.3 IVB avg, 9.1 HM avg, 39% zone %, 5.8 avg extension, 4.9 release height, average/traditional movement to the arm side, generally a bit too much up in the zone given the lower spin. CB: 63-66 mph, 2297 max spin (2208 avg), 4.9 avg release height, 71% zone %, smooth average size break, feel for the zone is a positive in the sense that if he can throw strikes then he can learn to start CB in zone and get chases out of the zone. CH: 70-71 mph, 1510 avg spin, 1.6 HM avg, 5.7 avg extension, 4.9 release height, 67% zone %, similar release and look to the FB with enough spin reduction to be an effective pitch as a straight change.

Positional Profile: RHP 2 IP; 1B, K, 1B, >I, K, 1B, F4, E6 Body: 5-10, 130-pounds. Lanky build on smaller frame. Delivery: Wind up hands set high. Stays tall throughout delivery. Starts on 3B side of rubber and as he makes his first movement he plants his back foot closer to 3rd. Stretch has no lift, right to slide step with a slight bend in the knee. Lands on a stiff front leg. Arm Action: RH. Long arm circle back that works into a strong-3/4 release. Healthy and repeatable FB: T75, 72-74 mph. Attacks zone. Shows some depth. Horizontal arm side run. CB: 62-63 mph. Big break with a hard bite. Gets hitters on front foot CH: 68-69 mph. Not much of a minus but the action makes up for the lack of minus. Will continue to get better as he gains strength and subsequent velocity.

Positional Profile: RHP Body: 5-10, 130-pounds. Thin and lean, longer body type with roomy frame given status as rising freshman. Run: 8.59 runner in the 60. Delivery: High knee lift over rubber, slight cross body, stable front foot stride, maintains body control and balance throughout delivery, gets to firm front side, calm head. Arm Action: RH. Long circular stroke, deep on backside in that sweeping circle, gets to high-3/4 slot, easy arm action, ability to repeat and manipulate the ball. FB: T75, 73-75 mph. Creates considerable sink and arm side run, pounded the zone. CB: 61-63 mph. Big break, showed deft feel for the zone, tight sping w/whiffle ball break, ability to use as a buckling type CB, very interesting breaking ball. CH: 67-70 mph. Feel on arm side, similar look to the FB with depth in the zone with similar horizontal movement patter, has feel for the CHG.
