PBR N CA Top Prospect Game - Strong/agile body at 5-foot-9 160-pounds, talented player with the versatile skill set to fit multiple positions (2B, SS, 3B, OF). Defense was on display again showing bounce and lateral agility having arm move in time with feet and keeping balls on a line (77 mph) across the diamond; made a nice play on a pop-up over 1st base into swirling wind. Quick upwards bat path driving line drives all around the field with gap-to-gap carry (90 mph exit velo off tee); bat-to-ball skills on display in game with a single to CF and hard flyout to LF. SB and BB showed he’s a top of the order type of hitter (7.10 60-yard).

vs College of San Mateo FALL BALL - Medium framed with strongly built upper half, the athletic Giuffre continues to show the defense playing around the infield with a middle of the field, line drive stroke. Standing at the plate with high hands and balanced posture, the compact swing got on plane early picking up two hits being in a strong hitting position all day and using the strength in his frame; singled to CF and LF squaring up a third one right at the CF ending the day 2-for-3. On defense he showed his tools making plays at 3B ranging into foul territory and being able to keep the ball on the line across the diamond. The footwork was solid during pregame taking ground balls at 2nd and showing smooth transitions from turns. Will definitely be a name to follow in Spring.

PBR BAY AREA OPEN: Medium frame, compact build with strength showing in the upper half; fluid stride through run (7.40 60yd). Keeping high hands and high elbows showing slight crouch in balanced stance, Giuffre uses bigger knee tuck as hands pull down and back tight to the body; strong ability to work behind the baseball hitting over a firm front side. Barrel is compact and quick showing strength in the wrists and hands with flashes of leverage to drive the ball (90 EV); consistent attack to the oppo gap with hard contact and line drives that have some carry. Strong defensive actions with quick feet being compact in his stride as he stays under himself to cover ground both ways and make plays on the move; compact arm with flick style release (76 MPH). First look and liked what we saw; chance for skills to keep growing especially the arm strength to stick on the left side of the diamond.
