Was impressive in three appearances on the Cape, allowing just two base runners over seven scoreless innings and striking out ten. The righty routinely works in the low 90s with his fastball, backing the offering with a solid upper-70s power curve that can reach the low-80s with hard downer action. Netz already looks the part of a potential relief arm at the next level but has a slider and a changeup at his disposal, as well, with a chance to work his way into the Wildcat rotation next spring where his draft stock could jump.
RHP, closed for the Brewers with three innings. He allowed two hits and struck out five. His fastball was 88-92 and he mixed in a big breaking curveball with depth at 68-71, as well as a changeup with sink at 77-81.
2/12/19 - The righty worked 91-93 with his fastball early showing some life and movement with the pitch. He snapped off an 11/5 shaped late breaking curveball that shows depth which he was able to command for the most part and drop in for strikes. He worked with those two pitches until the third inning - second time through the lineup - when he unleashed his full repertoire. Netz flashed his hard biting slider at 78 that he used as an out pitch at least once while throwing in any count. The pitch features late two-plane break as it fades away from right handed hitters. He also threw his changeup at 81-83 that induce weak roll over contact from hitters. Netz maintained his velo very well working 91-93 in third and 90-92 into the fifth. Netz finished with seven strikeouts while allowing three hits after retiring the first 11 hitters he faced. He also collected two hits.
7/15/18 - Netz is a guy who will absolutely see a rankings jump when we release our update rankings soon. The Arizona commit has easy arm actions that result in a fastball at 92-93 mph. He also showed a slider at 77-81 that has flashes of potential along with a curveball at 71-73 that can be loose at time but is very effective and plays up given his fastball velocity. He threw one changeup at 81 that showed late life and came from the same slot and with the same arm speed. A two-guy on his summer team, Netz's future is clearly on the mound where he is ultra competitive and doesn't give in to hitter no matter the count.
