V Monta Vista - Uncommitted. Medium frame showing lean muscles and space in frame to keep growing build; length in lower half and athletic. Balanced, quiet setup with hands at the back shoulder keeping elbows relaxed. Hands turn the top of the barrel towards the pitcher keeping hands tight to the body. Controlled foot lift showing balanced stride and ability to stay behind the baseball. Steps slightly closed using athleticism in body well allowing strong hips to turn; hands stay tight to the body uncoiling in sequence showing late barrel speed with hands following shoulders working upwards through the zone. Swing creates easy lift and loft to the pull side of the field with current pop in the bat. 2 HR to RF and two long fly-outs in the game. As frame continues to add strength it will impact his swing positively adding to already current pop. Athleticism in swing also translates to ability in CF with range to both sides and ability to create strong angles to track the ball down. Arm fits in CF with fringe-strength and ability to put ball online showing bouts of carry. Uncommitted, but has the ability to help a team at the next level and has been the catalyst for the Washington team all season.

Uncommitted as of this viewing; strong/lean athletic build and out of the lead-off spot created a lot of offense for his team. Showed willingness to go deep in counts, took pitches he should have and was aggressive to hittable strikes. Sees the ball well at plate, tracks through zone. Hands worked well with an easy move to the ball and showed ability to pull hands in on inside fastballs, though there is some barrel wrap to begin which creates some length at times. Got a bit pull conscious and got too big on a slow 2-strike curveball, which was the only out he made (BB, HR, 1B, K, HBP). He's got the strength to fight off tough pitches and get balls over the infield that he doesn't catch on the barrel. The homer was a grand slam on a 0-2 fastball that was up and a bit in, taking the ball down the RF line just over the fence. The single was on 2-2 pitch, so he collected both knocks in 2-strike counts. Defensively he was part of the convergence in centerfield that ended the game but in other opportunities he read and tracked balls well, with good jumps and angles
