2/26/19 at Valley Christian - University of Chicago commit, was the second pitcher for the Spartans and he followed Harrison with two quick innings of work also striking out two and giving up no hits. The long, high waisted righty has good deception keeping his hands at the waist and throwing with some cross-fire action. The ¾ release comes after an average arm swing showing depth behind the back. Silva worked glove side with angle on the FB staying 82-84 MPH during the outing, but knowing how to locate the pitch well. His CHG showed arm-side float as there were times where he slowed his arm, using the pitch to keep hitters off the FB at 71-73 MPH. His CB (66-69 MPH)was loose with good feel for the pitch being able to flash two-level break into and through the zone while also starting hitters off with the pitch early in the count. Look for him to be a key piece on the hill for the Spartans in 2019.
