Cape Cod: Slashed .257/.331/.343 over 162 plate appearances, showing a solid on-base ability despite some struggles to make consistent hard contact in-game. There's some feel in the box and pull-side pop, along with outfield/first base utility on the defensive side, making him a potential day three target next summer or perhaps a day two senior sign if he can get more power to manifest in-game this spring.
Connor is a medium, lean frame that has a high waist and length in his legs and athleticism readily available. He showed solid skills across the board and is the type of player that you have to watch daily to really appreciate all the things he does well. At the plate, he stands tall with high even hands and flared elbows keeping a bat flat on his back shoulder. The hands pull down with a big front knee tuck showing athleticism in his swing. The bat has some juice in it, with a middle of the field approach and the ability to drive liners creating hard contact. During the weekend he consistently showed quality AB's getting into hitters counts and looking to do damage, swang at strikes taking his walks when not getting them. He's quick out of the box with length in his stride (4.64T) and showed he's got good base running skills being able to score from 1st on a long double. In the outfield, he showed range making the plays he should and an arm that fits well in LF with throws consistently online and through cut-off men. This is the type of player that helps ball clubs win and that was exactly the case this weekend. He got a big hit in the bottom of the 7th against Valley Christian to get the offense started and did the same thing in the 1st two games drawing walks and putting pressure on opposing pitchers. College coaches looking for an OF should put Connor on their cross-check list.
Continues to impress both at the plate and in the field where his strong, accurate arm is an asset certain to help a college program. An above average runner, Connor is proving himself more than capable of getting on base with solid, consistent contact which he did with his laser shot to center field. The ball was hit so hard that he had to hold at first base. One or two feet to either side and Connor ends up on second base. There's a lot to like from Connor who is primed for a big spring season.
Connor showed he belongs on the list of college-bound outfielders with his performance at the Top Prospects Showcase. Connor shows the ability to stay behind the ball and uses his quick hands to drive the ball the other way. Gets good extension when timing is right. Hands are very fast allowing him to whip the barrel through the zone on an even and consistent plane. Opposite field approach from the left side that shows some pull side power. In the outfield Connor's athleticism and tool are on full display. Keeps his head still through approach to the ball and arrives under control before exploding through the ball and unleashing a strong, accurate arm. Plays with good rhythm in the outfield and takes good routes to the ball.
