1/27/19
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Medium frame with length in lower half and high waist; lean projectable frame with space for more. Short stride with quick feet (7.34 60-yd). Wide base with high hands and flared elbows keeping a flat bat; short rock back with knee tuck. Hands work on direct path with short arc through the baseball; drove ball into deep pull gap and middle of the field with backspin (83 exit velo). Long stride in the infield allows him to show strong range with late glove out in front of him; arm is compact and quick with high slot release (80 MPH). A strong two-way player who showed very well on mound also.
1/27/19
1/27/19 - PBR N CA Preseason All-State - Well-proportioned athletically strong build on 5-foot-11 175-pound frame, competed as a two-way player, on mound has good body control and can repeat his compact delivery, high knee lift, good rhythm, fairly shallow smooth circular backside arm action, on-line stride with firm landing foot in closed position allowing for good front side leverage, gets to high-3/4 release, finishes well with extension that allows for pitches to have life at the late, focused confident demeanor, ball was hard to pick up from our vantage point indicating some deception as he gets to release point, fastball (T87) with sneaky crisp life, showed feel of spiked 11/5 shaped curveball (70-71 mph), tight spin and some abrupt change of direction, change-up was a power change (76-78 mph) with late life and bottoming out action, showed above average feel of the change-up. Three quality pitches, good delivery, good arm, he's one to know in the region among 2020 pitchers.
