BAWS 2019 - Long, lean and projectable frame with space to keep adding strength. Athletic delivery on the mound showing good rhythm in delivery with clean, compact arm swing. Hands work down/up lifting with the high front knee; knee shows a quick tuck as body build momentum down the hill allowing arm to get to 3/4 release quickly. Attacked with the FB in 1st inning picking up 3 Ks with the pitch and spotting to the arm side with angle. FB 81-84 T85 used mainly armside; able to double up spots and showed confidence attacking with the pitch. CB 71 slurvy with small bend around the plate; didn’t really need the pitch with ability to locate FB/CHG combo. CHG 79 straight with some bottom at the plate; utilized off FB flashing some ability to get under the arm side. Frame projects well and the arm worked in time with lower half; chance for some more as he adds mass
5/14/19
vs Heritage HS in NCS D1 playoff - Uncommitted; lean average athletic build, overhand slot, fairly quick arm action, arm works easy and clean, displayed above average pitchability and feel of traditional FB/CB/CHG repertoire, fastball 79-84 mph, was still ticking around 82 deeper into the game, big 67-68 mph curveball with some depth and bite, best pitch was 77-78 mph change-up that at times he threw with plus feel, threw it anytime to both right and left handed hitters, confident demeanor, showed awareness of running game, stood tall and stayed composed even after making his own mental error on ball bunted back to him. Worked quick. Can see the velocity ticking up between junior and senior year and then getting some recruiting attention. Can definitely pitch.
