7/13/18 @ USA PDP - Boise State commit. Good pitchers body, physical descriptions remain the same. Stuff was down a bit from spring, trending in the 'tired' direction as summer wears on. Topped at 87 mph, breaking ball at 70 was slurve-ish, change-up 76-77 was good today. Four batter outing (backward K on change-up, F9 on change-up, K FB inside to RHH, 6-3).
6/2/18 @ BAWS 2018 - Physical description is as described in previous report. Remains one of Northern California's top projection right-handers and uncommitted 2019 pitchers. Pitched from stretch only in outing. Keeps hands at waist with them going up on his front knee. Body tends to be early down the mound, but showed late very quick loose arm with length in back before high-3/4 release; small crossfire. Fastball 85-87 mph with life at the plate. Showed arm side run and angle when going to the glove side. Ability to miss bats with fastball and was able to locate to all locations. Slider 71-75 showing late snap off the fastball plane; 11/5 action with small tilt in pitch. Hitters regularly swung through the pitch and he used it to set up the fastball out of the zone. One of the best pitchers we saw all weekend at BAWS.
5/22/18 - Uncommitted, long lean and strong, excellent build on a young pitcher at 6-foot-5 193-pounds. Viewing was in a NCS Div. 1 round one playoff game vs crosstown rival Heritage HS. Good present size and strength and certainly the type of frame to add and hold size and strength down the road. High-3/4/overhand release, loose arm with good extension, slight cross body stride, has the look of an arm action with chance to regularly compete with heavy stuff and deep life into the zone. Early game fastball control was good, faded a bit as his outing went on and some innings got long. Flashed strong usability of the fastball (85-87 mph) to the glove side, where he displayed good finish with his release. Slider was 74-75 mph with 11/4 action, so a little more lateral vs having enough depth in this outing. Pitches from extreme first base side of the rubber and it limits the deception and doesn't create much uncomfortability for the hitters. Stuff and body and arm action are all good, he is a strong high school prospect and looks to have a very good chance to throw quite hard with an at least an average secondary pitch.
