NorCal State Games ID: A young catcher with 3rd base versatility and talent, we've seen Andre on a couple of other occasions and he continues to be incrementally stronger and better each time we see him. Has strength with the bat, getting up to 94 EV, and the bat speed is approaching 70 mph. Compact stroke and and lots of sweet spot contact. Behind the plate he showed ability to get rid of the ball quickly with a low pop of 2.05 and range up to 2.15. The footwork quickness and exchange/release both allow the arm to play up beyond his 71 mph.
9/18/21
Positional Profile: C/3B Body: 5-10, 165-pounds. Average size frame, has some budding strength in lower half, fairly broad shoulders. Hit: RHH. Wide feet, very slightly open, slight hunch, smooth lift to slightly closed stride, sees ball well, smooth easy medium depth load, has bat rhythm. Works inside, hitterish stroke, willing to spray around field, gets behind contact with balance and leverage, barrel angle a bit below ball in attack angle, fly ball approach, maintains balance. Power: 85.5 max exit velocity, 67 max bat speed, 20.6 max hand speed. Arm: RH. C - 73 mph. Fair arm, inconsistent carry on throws due to fairly sizeable move toward the RH box, there is more in the arm than he showed. Defense: 2.11-2.24 pop times. Soft hands, strong legs, squared up in set-up, early adjustment to pop position, hard working during games, has calm and strong presence behind the plate. Run: 7.41 runner in the 60.
10/10/20
Positional Profile: C/SS Body: 5-8, 148-pounds. Smaller frame, proportional throughout, room and time to fill out physically. Hit: RHH. Even stance with a small leg lift and hand hitch when initiating the swing. Power: Topped 85 MPH Exit Velo via Trackman in BP. Power will come with added mass. Arm: RH. C - 69 mph. Short and clean arm action behind the plate that topped 69 MPH. Defense: 2.22-2.35 pop times. Fluid actions during the defensive workout, fielded bunts well and had quality transfer skills. Run: 7.68 runner in the 60.
