6/12/18 - Uncommitted. Compact build, built well for the catcher position, has some present strength on a 5-foot-7 160-pound frame. Showed solid balance and good finish in his swing. Bat speed can improve and he looks to be working toward some lift in his swing. Timing was good, barrel awareness was good. Pull side approach. A flatter middle of the field approach would serve him better as balls in the air didn't show the type of carry needed with his present approach. Behind the plate his feet moved well and with discipline, good exchange as well. Throws lacked carry and raw arm strength can certainly improve. Staying lower and driving the ball with his lower half would be an adjustment to make. Sits a bit high as a receiver but pocketed the ball well. On mound showed good direction though landing foot opens early which causes loss of finish and power in pitches. Overhand slot, fastball got up to 75 mph but lots of variance down to 70 mph indicates delivery inconsistencies with timing of lower and upper half.
