Russel Young 2020 Catcher from the Langley Blaze organization stands 5-foot-11 180-pound and is uncommitted. Young behind the plate showed very quick feet and transfer ability working through the ball and was very accurate with his throws showing a good pop time of 1.94-seconds. Expect that to get even quicker as he works to improve his arm strength sitting at 76 mph from the crouch. Young may see some time in the OF going forward with a 7.15-second 60. He finished up his day with his bp session. Bat speed was evident with an exit velo of 87 mph, he attacks the ball with some lift looking to pull most balls in bp. An interesting catcher to keep an eye on as he continues to add strength expect his offensive output to increase.
