The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
Scalzo had one of the better pitching performances of the day at the ProCase. Heavy with the fastball early, sitting in the 86-88 mph range. Also used a very effective slider with late 2-plane break which generated plenty of in-zone and out-of-zone swing & miss. Out of a ¾ slot, his long arm in the back, but quick to his release point can create deception. The 2023 Future Gamer continues to trend upwards as we head toward the offseason.

6-foot-1, 200-pound right-hander with a three-pitch mix. It’s a high-spin fastball at 85-88 T89 and was working the edges of the plate with it. Also showed feel for both his secondary offerings (CB/CH) and kept hitters guessing at the plate with the ability to land them for strikes. Worked two strong innings and the velocity continues to trend upwards for the BC native. Scalzo has really jumped onto the scene over the past year and has shown well on several big stages.

2025 RHP Robert Scalzo got the start Wednesday against the Blaze and held them in check through his first two innings. 6-foot-1, 195-pounds with a clean arm on the mound. Pounds the zone with a good fastball/curveball combination and the ability to throw both for strikes. The fastball sat 82-85mph along with a curveball 71-74mph. Ran into some trouble during his third inning of work but his ability to mix speeds at any time limited the hard contact. Intriguing uncommitted 2025 arm who competes on the mound and should be garnering the interest of college coaches going forward.
3/21/23
2025 RHP Robert Scalzo (Uncommitted) was one of the more intriguing arms we saw on the day and there’s lots to like with the 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. Clean mechanics on the mound and is consistently on-time with his delivery. The fastball sat 82-84 during his one inning of work and topped out at 87mph. Was heavy on the fastball but threw two sliders at 74-75mph with downward action and both were fouled off. An underclassmen going up against pro hitters and handled his own. One of the better 2025 arms on the West Coast.
