A true switch-hitting catcher, Lake shows a nice stroke from each side of the plate. He has a consistent approach from both sides of the plate, peppering the field with backspin line drives with a repeatable stride and load that has some quickness to it. He led the day on max bat speed at 77.60 MPH, averaging out at 72.32 MPH and was among leaders in max Hand Speed at 22.90 and Exit Velocity (91 MPH). Defensively behind the plate, he flashed impressive POP numbers, getting under the 2.00 mark with a 1.95, ranging from 1.95-2.05 on the day. During pens, he showed a natural feel for the spot and handled his pitchers well. This uncommitted 2022 can be a highly effective catch and throw catcher going to the next level.
