5’11 195-pound frame. Starts slightly open with feet shoulder width apart. Quiet set up, laying bat on shoulder and tilting it upwards as he loads into back side. Uses lower half well, creating separation to rotate with good sequence. Pull/middle approach with hard contact in the air. Exit velo at 90 MPH. Bare hand stays close to glove for quick transfer from glove to barehand. Transfer in the center of his body. Footwork stays open on throws to 2B which takes away some of his lower half. Arm strength was at 75 MPH with carry.
1/27/19 Uncommitted 5’11, 185 pounds. Simple and compact set up at the plate, creating good leverage to drive the ball in the air. 87 MPH exit velo continues to climb. Transfers ball quickly in midline of body which is reflected by accurate throws as low as 2.08. Arm strength was 73 MPH. Stood out with the amount of energy he brought throughout the day.
10/14/18 - 5-foot-10, 185-pound frame. Has made a significant jump in the year since we last saw him, both physically and mechanically; exit velocity now 85 mph. This is a direct product of the now calm, crouched, attack oriented swing. Uses early hand load and hits from a dead stop at times. Barreled balls up consistently and no longer cuts himself off. Much more efficient mechanics. Looking to hit balls in the air and shows the ability to do it routinely. Impressed behind the plate with 2.06-2.14 pop times and 74 mph velocity. Showed quick transfer and efficient footwork. Ran 7.40 60-yard dash.
12/27/17 - 5-foot-9, 170-pound frame. Displays solid hitting mechanics with a big lateral move to load into his back side. Creates a solid hitting base and does a good job staying behind the baseball. Showed tendency to cut off swing at times and not get to extension; 73 mph exit velocity. Stands up before gaining ground on throws to 2B; 2.22 best pop time with 65 mph velo. 7.91 60-yard dash.
