5/10 135-pound frame. Starts with a wide base, using a toe tap to load into backside, landing square and in the same place he starts. Works into zone early, with a middle approach. Needs to get stronger to have balls start to carry into gaps. Exit velo at 83 MPH. Quick arm in the infield. Two shuffle pattern cutting down distance of throw and using momentum well to get the ball across at 79 MPH.
Fastball at 80-82 from a ¾ arm slot. Strides in line with home plate. Scattered lively fastball throughout the zone and kept the ball on the ground. Velo will match arm speed as he gets stronger. Changeup at 72 was thrown with good fade and arm speed. Spun breaking ball well with depth and hard bite at 73 MPH
10/14/18 -5-foot-9, 135-pound frame. Lustig showed solid middle infield actions and a solid swing with line drive path. Lustig's speed was the biggest question mark previously and he's clearly worked to improve in that aspect, lowering his 60 to 7.24 from 7.44 early this summer. At the plate works from an extreme open set-up with quick hands. Posted a 80 mph exit velocity. On the mound really shined. Filled it up with 3 pitches and worked downhill with authority. A FB topped out at 80 mph to go along with a high spin rate CB at 67 mph. A change up with downward action finish out the arsenal at 72 mph.
6/6/18 - 5-foot-9, 140-pound frame. Room to fill out. Lustig doesn’t possess a standout tool currently, but he shows solid abilities as a two-way player. As a position player Lustig shows a solid swing and is very capable of defending on the infield. Recorded a 78 mph exit velocity and a 78 mph infield velocity. On the bump he ran his fastball up to 80 mph from a high ¾ arm slot. Short, compact arm action. Stays tall before aggressively pushing away from the rubber with the back leg. Holds counter rotation of the torso for a long time, separates well. Generates impressive arm speed. Arm recoils after release. Curveball was thrown at 63-66 mph with 11/5 shape and flashed solid depth. Also showed a change up at 72 mph. Very likely he will be able to help a college program at the next level. Improving 7.44 60-yard dash will dictate ceiling.
11/12/17 – Young 5-foot-8, 130-pound frame. Bat speed stands out on offense, especially considering his current level of physical strength; 76 mph exit velocity. Creates good separation and has advanced rhythm in the box, using a slight leg lift trigger. Made lots of hard contact to the pull side during his round. Moves well on the infield defensively and showed strong carry on his throws with 75 mph velocity. Did show a tendency to play a bit high at times on defense. Also pitched, working 75-76, T77 with a slower tempo delivery, short stride and some effort. Sweeping 61-63 mph breaking ball showed consistent rotation and was generally around the zone. 65-67 mph changeup showed slight fading action at times. Interesting young prospect to follow as his body matures.
