A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.

6-foot-2 180-pounds, lean body with long limbs, high waisted, has gained some strength in the last year. Competed as a two-way at the 22TPG. Right-handed hitter with raw approach. Hits from a squared upright stance, uses a stiff leg kick turning his knee inward before landing slightly hard on front foot. Showed above average bat & hand speed with good rotation. Turns barrel early at times, creating a pull approach. Natural arm strength, showing some aggressiveness in the OF, throwing 89mph. Capable footwork with confident actions. Ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. Also worked out on the mound where he should end up at the next level. Rhythm to repeatable delivery, coiling over rubber. Lands slightly closed. Throws with quick short arm action from a H ¾ slot. Pounded the strike with his straight FB at 83-87mph. Showed varying movement on slurvy breaking ball at 69-71mph. CH is his best secondary pitch at 73-75mph that moves similar to a cutter at times. Should be followed.
1/26/20
6-foot-2 173-pounds, thin high waisted with long limbs, room to hold more strength. Easy low effort delivery. Pushes off the rubber with early rotation. Slightly forward tilt of the trunk at front foot strike. Throws with short arm action with some drag from H ¾ arm slot. FB showed some slight heaviness and sinking action at 83-85mph. Slurvy breaking ball with varying shape thrown with a stiff wrist at 68-70mph, showing some glimpses of being a quality pitch. Struckout a batter in his game on his breaking ball. Some natural arm strength, could make a jump into the summer. Threw 90mph from the OF last summer. Development should be followed on the mound.
7/31/19
The 6-foot-1 167 pound sinkerballer did not allow a ball to be hit in the air during his 2 innings. The sinker was 81-86 and heavy. He showed a 68-70 mph CH that was inconsistent but did show depth and got some swings and misses. In this era of trying to elevate the baseball offensively, someone that has the ability to neutralize that is very valuable – and the velo will come.
6/18/19
Large projectable build at 6’1” 170lbs, some present strength throughout the body with room to add size, overall good arm strength throwing 90mph from the OF, displayed a lively FB at 84-85mph that had some sink and arm side run, showed the ability to control the strike zone and elevate his FB by hitters, CV showed to be an above average pitch with good bite & 12/6 shape, strong pitching prospect to follow.
5/15/19
The projectible 6’1 167 pound RHP/OF has a chance to be a legit two way prospect. On the mound he worked primarily to his arm side, struggling to get the ball to the other side of the plate. He is plenty athletic enough and the arm works well enough to make small timing changes, that wont impact his velocity. The fastball was up to 85 MPH and added a breaking ball at 66-68 MPH with depth.
At the plate he starts upright, loading into his legs while tipping the barrel up. If he can sink his leg lift up with his barrel tilt, a little more, his overall smoothness of swing and timing will improve. He stays narrow while rotating, which helps him rotate quicker, producing a 83 MPH exit velo. He was also 86 from the outfield and ran a 7.51 60
