6-foot 160-pounds, athletic build, long frame, some fast twitch movement, projectable. Breakout performance with significant improvement since the last time we saw him. Hits from a raw spread out stance with bent knees. Quick knee to knee trigger. Minimal separation of the hands from the body. Shows some feel for the barrel with quick time to contact. Opposite field approach. Showed some pop to RCF in upper 80’s. Middle infield play stood out on the day with easy fast footwork. Ran the top 60-yard dash of the day at 6.68. Showed twitchy hands, making a nice play going to his forehand up the middle in live action. Displays a strong arm across the diamond at 88mph. If his offense can catch up a bit, Thiele has a chance to be a big pickup for a college program.

6-foot 160-pounds, average body, long limbs & torso. Raw swing, starting from a squared upright base with some knee bend. Uses coiled leg kick to transfer weight to back leg. Starts with hands high, loading back. Downward swing plane, steep at times. Stayed through the baseball. Showed some bat speed when in sync. Average contact at 79mph exit velocity. Long average footwork in the infield. Does have some quickness, covering some ground to glove side. Ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Approaches the ball with the glove and fingertips down in the center of his body. Changed up arm slots depending on where the ball was hit. 81mph arm strength across the diamond.
6/6/18 - 5-foot-11, 155-pound frame. Plenty of projection remaining physically. Thiele showed some interesting tools, highlighted by posting a solid 7.15 60-yard dash and an impressive 83 infield velocity. At the plate Thiele hit from an open, balanced set up. Quickness of the hips and hands. Posture begins to tilt over the plate at contact, looking to get extended; 74 mph exit velocity. Lays off barrel. Solid actions on the infield. Should be able to play either spot on the left side of the infield. Kept feet moving through the ball, fielded ball out in front with body over the ball, whippy arm action that generated arm speed. On the mound Thiele worked 75-78 mph with his fastball. Up-down-and-out style of mechanics. Lands closed off stepping towards third base making it difficult to rotate into the front hip and for the lead leg to block forward momentum. Curveball was thrown at 61-63 mph with proper 11/5 shape and spin when released out in front. Change up worked 67-70 flashing solid sinking action.
