We haven't had a chance to get detailed measurements on Jones at an event yet but we have seen him plenty over the course of the fall in live tournament action. He played for a strong AZBC team continuously hitting in the 3-hole in talented offensive lineup. Jones hit .450 in the fall with a .600 + OBP. His skills on both sides of the ball stick out which is why he is currently listed at the top catcher in the state in the 2023 class. Jones is a large strong bodied right-handed hitter with short line drive swing. His consistency & gap to gap potential improved over the course of the fall season. His strength gives him above average pop to go along with his feel for the barrel. Defensively, he has soft hands and is an above average receiver & thrower. There is still room for improvements with added quickness and small refinements. Jones should be a strong catching prospect in the 2023 class to follow.
