1/27/19- 5’7 165-pound. Good rhythm in his pull side approach. Loads into back side well, going from knee to knee in his leg lift. Has good extension and finishes with two hands off his shoulder. Uses the ground to create his 87 MPH exit velo and showing some pop in his BP. Arm works well in the outfield at 81 MPH with good carry from his crow hop.
10/14/18 - 5-foot-7, 165-pound frame. Has added muscle since our last look and the increased power and bat speed show. Exit Velocity up to 88 mph from 80 less than a year ago. Starts from a wider set-up; looking to elevate. Has a very active, somewhat jerky load, but makes it work and finds the barrel. Shows solid pop for size and advanced hand/eye. Defensively, Padilla profiles as a likely left fielder. Feet work well in the outfield and arm strength (81 mph) has room for improvement as lower half becomes more efficient. Ran 7.26 60-yard dash, which is a hair slower, possibly due to the added strength/mass. Bat is best tool and we’ve seen it show up in game action.
6/5/18 - 5-foot-7 155-pound frame. Strong, compact build. Efficient path to the baseball with minimal wasted movement. Swing gets on plane early with good extension through contact. Made hard contact in game action. High follow through and finish; 80 mph exit velocity. Projects as a corner outfielder at the next level. Showed a quick arm that produced an 81 mph outfield velocity. Also ran a 7.07 60 yard dash.
