6-foot-1 195-pounds, broad shoulders, strong body, athletically built, big legs. Two-way player. Sets up in a narrow upright base with little knee bend. Stretches into front foot strike with some forward movement. Elite hand speed, rotating onto the swing plane quickly. Power potential with 90mph exit velocity. High vertical bat angle at contact with aggressive hands. Capable outfielder with heavy feet. Some natural strong arm strength with tail on throws, 82mph arm strength, falling off glove side with little momentum. Also worked out on the mound. Athletic delivery using lower half, loading back hip, long stride, landing with a locked front knee at times. Good extension. FB sat 79-82mph. Showed some feel for a SL at 75-76mph.
1/26/20
6-foot-1 195-pounds, physical body, broad shoulders, big legs, strength to work with. Hits from a squared base with some weight on the front leg, shifting weight to the middle of the body. Uses a small leg lift with minimal forward movement. Throws hands at the ball with strong upper body dominant swing. Ball jumps of bat with limited carry at 89mph. Good pre-pitch movement & feel for position in OF. Takes good angles & creates carry with accuracy on 81mph throws. One the mound, throws with short arm action from ¾ slot. FB sat 78-81 with higher spin. Takes direction away from plate with uncontrolled finish. Off-speed still developing but located down in the zone.
1/27/19- 5’11 185-pound strong frame. Starts feet inside shoulder width, striding out as hands work back to load. Gets to toe after striding, creating 76 MPH exit velo. The mound is where Kingsbury’s future lies. Fastball topped out at 78 MPH from the left side. Arm action is easy from his low ¾ arm slot which adds deception and angle to his pitches. Fastball had good fade and sink to his arm side, producing weak ground balls from righties. Changeup was best secondary pitch, showing good arm speed and feel for the pitch below the zone at 74 MPH
10/14/18 - Strong 5-foot-11, 185-pound frame. Right-handed hitting, left-handed throwing LHP/OF. Confident delivery with running FB at 77-78 mph that also flashes sink when not thrown uphill. Can really get out over soft front side at times. 71-72 mph breaking ball shows proper rotation, but is also thrown uphill often with a low elbow as stride is very long and he again doesn’t post on front leg. Developing change up rounds out the arsenal at 68-70 mph. As a hitter, Kingsbury shows strength and made some hard contact, but really cheats with the front side to get the barrel out. Power generated more by strength than bat speed. In the OF, tends to push the ball uphill to the arm side at 80 mph. Posted 7.46 60-yard dash that may profile better to 1B. Shows some intriguing tools on both sides with continued mechanical refinement.
