10/10/18 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with sloping shoulders and defined lower half. Really swung around his body with the lower half stopping rotation early at times, which cut off his swing and didn’t allow extension. Looking to hook and lift. Posted 82 mph exit velocity, but have seen much better from him in the past. Has makings of workable swing with some raw power; will need to continue to refine to allow it to play in games. Outfield actions have improved as he did a better job playing through the baseball and getting rid of it quicker than on previous looks. Very long arm action that produced accurate 83 mph throws from RF. Corner OF/1B profile. Posted 7.33 second 60-yard dash.
6/27/18 - 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame. Athletic build. Relaxed, quiet set up at the plate from the left side. Shorter stride as back elbow works into scap retraction during load. Remains closed into foot plant, body rotates aggressively to generate whippy bat speed. Fast hands, tendency to turn the barrel over, uphill swing path; 91 mph exit velocity. Still looking to lift and pull down RF line, but did a better job keeping the barrel in the zone than at his previous event. Defensively worked out in the outfield, corner outfield profile. Moved confidently to ball displaying solid footwork, played through the ball, long arm action that generated an 80 mph outfield velocity. Also posted a 7.21 60-yard dash.
5/20/18 - Strong 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with some tools that will translate, posting a 7.09 60 and 90 mph exit velocity. With some adjustments to get more out of his lower half Griffin could drive the ball with even more authority. Back heel remains on ground throughout swing at times, works to turn barrel behind his body and swing up through the baseball. Looking to lift and pull. Posted 82 mph outfield velo with longer arm action and solid defensive actions.
