5-foot-11 180-pounds, large build with proportional strength. Improving athleticism, looking noticeably lighter on his feet than the past, turning in a 7.6 60-yard dash which is a significant improvement for him. Forces actions behind the plate at times with average body control. Mobility and flexibility in stances have received an uptick. Above average arm with some effort, working 1.99-2.1 pop times with a quick release at 73mph arm strength. Round of BP stood out at the event, where he hit four balls over 87mph, including a ball to LF at 343ft. Typically, he is a line drive hitter with not a ton of flash but showed some ability to drive the ball deep on this day with arguably one of the top BP rounds.
1/26/20
Large 5-foot-11 182-pound build, proportional strength and some length to frame, athleticism improving. Was battling some back issues on the day. Ran a 8.26 60-yard dash. Hits from a squared base, lowering his body with bent knees. Uses forward move landing with foot and knee open. Turns barrel early creating a pull approach. Showed some power to the LF gap when he stayed through the baseball. Some stiffness to mobility & flexibility behind the plate. Some extra movement, swaying while receiving. 2.09-2.2 pop times with 68mph arm strength. Development should be followed.
12/15/19
Large 5’11” 172lbs build, proportional strength throughout frame, athleticism improving, above average defensive skills for age, sticks pitches with strength in forearm, gets underneath ball more consistently with added flexibility, good arm strength & quick transfers, inconsistent balance & minimal follow through on throws affecting accuracy to the bag, pop times ranged from 2.00-2.15 with 73mph velocity, showed overall above average actions for age, hits from a square base getting off his backside early, barrel turns as he starts his swing, LF line approach with above average contact at 83 mph. Good follow catching prospect in the future.
5/15/19
5’10 155-pound long legged build. Starts square with hands just above shoulder and good rhythm. Handles the ball down well, using side bend to get on plane. Gets bat into a good position when loading with foot down on time. Behind the plate, he has a quick transfer resulting in an event low 1.93 pop time. Mobility will need to develop but should come as he gets stronger and more innings behind the plate.
