With a more mature, limited projection body type at 5-foot-10, 185 pounds it’s sometimes hard to get noticed on scout day, especially a Wabash Valley Scout Day that was loaded with dudes. But, when you run a 6.88 sixty and throw 94 mph across the infield from shortstop it will attract attention. And, it didn’t stop there with Minyety. A confident defender, he showed quick feet, smooth hands and a plus arm with the ability to throw from all angles. He was arguably the top defensive infielder along with Savier Pinales. At the plate the right-handed hitter had an open stance and some length to contact. He doesn’t project to hit for much over the fence power, but he used all fields during BP. Shooting line drives to both gaps are more his game. With his toolset a conversion to catcher for a shot in pro ball stands to reason.
