7/31/19

5-foot-11 165 pound lefty showed a significant velocity jump from the TPG in June, working 82-86.  There was arm speed and he flashed a 66-68 mph CB that could develop into an average offering.

6/12/19

5’11 165-pound frame. Wide base, starting with weight over back leg. Using negative move in leg lift to land in the same spot he starts. Small barrel tilt as he loads into back side allows for momentum behind the strike zone. Good separation as he moves forward with his stride. Exit velo was 84 MPH. Uses a pro step from the outfield to get in line with target and produce 87 MPH throws with good carry.

Worked up to 80 MPH from a high ¾ slot, staying tall in his delivery. Downhill angle. Good feel for breaking ball, throwing it for strikes anytime. Breaking ball had good break and depth to it at 64-66 MPH. Change up was 69-71 MPH with fading action.

10/14/18 - 5-foot-10, 158 pound lean and developing frame. Extremely intriguing follow in the 2021 class. The left-hander works with a quiet and slow tempo, before exploding down the mound. Maximizes strength. Timing issues exist, but his 81 mph fastball does play up. The curveball shows tight rotation at 63-65 mph and projects as a solid secondary offering. The changeup showed arm side fade and was consistently in the zone at 74 mph, giving him a weapon against RHH.  Jessup has previously shown well as an outfielder as well.

6/6/18 - 5-foot-10, 145-pound frame. Lean, athletic, projectable build. At the plate Jessup starts from a wide base, presets weight onto back leg, low hand positioning, knee knock timing mechanism and stride, slight uphill swing path, good extension through contact, high one handed finish; 81 mph exit velocity. Shows loosens in wrists that intrigues. Defensively Jessup profiles as a corner outfielder, where he possesses the skills to handle the position. Showed solid, fluid footwork. Long, loose left handed arm; 79 mph outfield velocity. 7.35 60-yard dash.
