6/27/18 - 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame. Wiry body and strength. At the plate, tall, open set up. Small leg kick, big forward momentum shift into contact. Barrel path was mostly flat through the zone. Soft front leg and high finish; 80 mph exit velocity. Defensively worked out on the infield, second base profile. Solid actions. Continues to show an improved transfer and quick arm action; 80 mph infield velocity. Also ran a 7.02 60-yard dash.
5/20/18 - 5-foot-10, 155-pound frame with some present strength and quick twitch ability. Made significant improvements to his game since the Preseason All-State Games this winter. He showed off a much improved swing, getting more out of his lower half and making more consistent line drive contact during his round of BP. The front side can get soft at times, with significant forward head movement in his swing, but the progress is significant; 81 mph exit velocity. Blakeman also showed off a quicker transfer on the infield with 79 mph velocity across the diamond and improved his run time to a 6.93.
1/28/18 - 5-foot-10 150-pound frame. Solid athlete turned in 7.07 60-yard dash. Fights to stay inside the baseball, no matter where it’s pitched, made the majority of his contact towards CF in his round of BP. Showed tendency to get out over his soft front side in BP. Will drive the ball more consistently as he adjusts mechanics to stay behind the baseball. 82 mph exit velocity. Does a good job working through the baseball on the infield. Slower release, taking a few steps before letting go of the baseball. Profiles best to 2B at the next level. 80 mph infield velo.
