5’7 150-pound frame. Square stance with small leg lift to load into back side. Bat tilts up as leg goes up to create good rhythm between upper and lower half. Gets a little pushy, forcing extension through the middle. High finish slows down bat speed, rather than rotating around spine angle to continue efficiently. Lands with leg flexed for adjustability throughout swing. Exit velo at 81 MPH. Active feet in the infield leads to good hops and momentum. Good timing between left foot and catching the baseball to give freedom with selecting hops and working through the baseball. Arm was at 81 MPH across the infield.
1/27/19 – 5’ 7 130-pound frame with strong legs. Explosive lower half. Small hover to gather himself before his forward move to stride. Barrel gets into zone early. Works uphill to the baseball. Side bends well but may cause issues on velocity up. Exit velo was 78 MPH. Works well to the baseball, getting middle to left. Good timing of footwork to keep momentum to 1B. Ball gets to right hip which may cause timing issues with arm swing down the road.
10/14/18 - Lean 5-foot-7, 135-pound frame with some strength in lower half and immature upper body. Gets started early with slow, quiet load, creating solid separation. Really does a good job with bat path and back hip explosion on the way to a 78 mph exit velocity. Does an excellent job staying through the ball and getting extension. Posted 7.39 60-yard dash. In the field, Mondeau showed some of the most confident hands and actions of the event. Easy transfer at the belt before making accurate 75 mph throws across diamond with short, quick arm action. Projects to make significant jumps as body catches up to his skill.
